Dr Jonathan Korgaonkar

Jonathan has been a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine since 2017. He has worked across a variety of areas including the NHS, elite sport and private practice. He has extensive experience covering Premier league football for both West Ham United and Brentford football clubs.

He has also covered the care of Olympic and Paralympic athletes through the UK Sports Institute. Other work in elite sport includes event cover at the IAAF world athletics championships and the London marathon. These roles involve a multi-disciplinary approach to the care of both the elite and amateur athletes alike, helping individuals to achieve their own personal goals.

Research interests at Imperial includes rehabilitation from Sports injuries, exercise medicine and osteoarthritis following knee injuries with regenerative medicine approaches. He teaches at Imperial, supervising medical students and Sports Medicine trainees. Experience includes teaching on national and international musculoskeletal ultrasound and injection courses.

Outside of medicine Jonathan remains a keen sportsman. He has played high level University and amateur level football, cricket and golf. His longstanding goal remains to play to a scratch handicap. We should all dream but work hard to achieve our goals!
